Greetings from Sydney, Australia
by Bill Cresswell

I couldn''t believe my eyes ... for years I''ve been wondering what had happened to ESC!
Casually, whilst surfing (the web that is) yesterday, I typed English School Cairo ... and to my astonishment ... there it was! In all it''s glory. ESC!
I cannot find words to express my gratitude and admiration to all concerned. BRAVO!
I''ll keep this a brief as possible.
In ''46ish, I attended Kindergarden.
From Oct. 1950 to Feb. 1957 I went through Junior School, Mixed Remove, then to Senior School (Frobisher). My last part-school year was Form IV Boys, after which I had to leave Egypt.
I owe my "extra" stay in Egypt and at the ESC to Mr. M.A.N. Ghanem, Director for Sequestrator ... for which I am very grateful.
My mother, Helen Cresswell, worked at ESC as Linen Room Lady and Assistant Matron.
Students'' names that come to mind are: Mounir Sioufi, Basil Mikaati, Hassan Salah, Hoda ?, Jaqueline Myers, Gilbert ?, Emmanuel Lycos, Billy Bond-Taylor, Leila ? (I had a crush on her!) and Omar ?.
Teachers'' names: Mr. & Mrs. Gale (the glam couple!), Mr. & Mrs. Holt, Mr. Fairbanks, Mademoiselle Marie (married Mr. Richter the Librarian) ... not to mention Mr. G.F. Beard (you may do me ...!) from whom I received 6 of the best ... twice, Mr. Laight and Dorothy Sanderson.
If any of the above rings a bell ... please e-mail me ... love to hear from you.
My half-brother, George Alfred Cresswell also attended ESC in the late 30s and early 40s. I''ll attempt to get details from him soon!
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie ... Oi! Oi! Oi!
