The history of the ESC may be divided into two eras, the era under British management which is up to 1956 and the era under Egyptian management, which is 1956 up to the present. These are essentially two eras because the change which occurred at the school in 1956 was a major one, even though the language of instruction remained English and the school''s social structure was basically maintained. Victoria College, Maadi was also nationalized. The Old Victorians consider the history of Victoria College to have ended in 1956. See their website. In contrast, the ESC Alumni, "Old" and "Young", still meet in various parts of the world and try to support their school. Keep up your interest and may the spirit of the ESC be with you.
